Terms

Terms of use

These terms cover the free pages, the scope check, the obligation kit and the change watch. By using the site or buying a product you accept them.

Accuracy

We read the Official Journal text and state each provision in our own words. We try to be accurate, but the pages are a summary and a tool, not the instrument and not legal advice. Check any line against the official text before you rely on it. Where our wording and the instrument differ, the instrument governs.

Trademarks and copyright

The instrument text remains the Union's. Article and annex titles and defined terms are used as names. The rest of the wording on this site is ours. "The Art of Service" and the product name are used by the publisher. Nothing on this site grants a licence to reproduce the instrument or any third-party material.

No certification, no endorsement, no legal advice

Not legal advice; does not certify. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, any national authority or any standards body. A result from the check is not a certificate, an audit opinion or a statement that a product or service complies.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the facts you enter, for the national measure that applies where you sell, and for the decisions you take. The check cannot account for a member state option under Articles 4(4), 31(3) or 32(2), or for a national penalty or authority practice.

EU consumers: withdrawal and digital content

If you buy as a consumer in the European Union, you have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. Where the kit is supplied immediately as digital content and you ask for it to start at once, you acknowledge that you lose the withdrawal right once the download has begun. The watch is a subscription: you can cancel at any time in Stripe and the cancellation stops future alerts; it does not remove the right to withdraw within 14 days of the first payment where that right applies. Nothing in this section reduces a right the law gives you.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. If a service is not delivered with due care and skill, you may have a remedy under that law. To the extent the law allows, our liability for a failure is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of resupply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

Changes

We update these terms with the site and show the date below. The version in force is the one published here when you use the site or buy.
